On Sunday morning, on our way to the grocery store, we stopped in at Airport Park in Grafton. This park is nestled in a cute little neighborhood on Bedford Ave.  We arrived just after 11am and had no trouble finding parking as this park offers plenty of spaces in a midsize, lined parking lot.  Upon entering the park I noticed a man and a young boy hitting baseballs in a batting cage located in the far back corner of the park. There was an older gentleman on a walking path that wrapped along the outside of the basketball court, along the back of the baseball field, and looped up towards the parking lot and just outside the playground. We were the only people in the playground for a short time before a small group of children with two women arrived.

The playground, located just to the right when entering the park, is fenced in separately within the park. There are 3 main play structures inclusive of a set of swings, a decently sized climbing structure with 2 slides, and an additional separate slide. My son had the most fun on the larger structure where he could climb the "log hill" and jump off the disc ladder.

I am always happy when I visit a park that has a swing set with multiple seats and a bonus if it includes an infant and/or handicapped seat! This comes in handy when you visit the playground with friends. And if you do, this park offers benches for you all to sit on as well as a picnic table to share a snack.

On the ground you will find wood chips and a few rubber mats to help guide your littles. While Grant ran around I noticed that the area seemed to have been a victim of the insane amount of rain we received this summer as there were areas that ebbed and flowed and raised and lowered like a being in a fun house.

PLAYGROUND FACTS & RATING:(out of 10)

Parking: 10: Medium-sized, lined parking lot available. The entrance to the park is located along the backside of the parking lot.

Bathrooms: 3: I saw one port-a-potty located in the parking lot right outside the fence.

Safety: 9: Not only is the park located away from the street and fenced in but the playground area is fenced in within the park. No broken equipment or difficult climbing equipment. I gave it a 9 only because the ground of the playground area is not level and the rubber matting had some lifting that could cause falls.

Cleanliness: 9: The playground was very clean. I saw 2 trash receptacles; one in the playground and one at the entrance/exit of the park.

Equipment: 6: The equipment offered was perfect for a quick morning or afternoon break for little ones ages 2-6. Unfortunately, the limited variety lowered the score.

Overall: 7.4: This is a great place to bring your younger children and spend an hour or two. Also, a great distraction for them to play if an older sibling has a baseball game or wants to shoot hoops with friends.
