On Sunday morning, we took Dad to celebrate Father's Day by checking out a new park!  This playground can be accessed through Millville Rd or Taft Ave in Mendon, MA. We arrived around 10:30 am and there were two other families with children ranging in age from about 1 year old to 5 years old.  The playground is only one of the many things there are to do. This park includes basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, batting cages, picnic areas, and walking paths!

This playground was a great find. With two separate structures and suggested age signs, there is PLENTY to do for kids of all ages and experiences. I saw two sets of swings, one located in the playground area that included 4 or so regular swings and 2 infant swings and another near the baseball fields that consisted only of regular swings. Lots of climbing structures (some of which made me a tad nervous because my 4yr old is fearless), slides, rope towers, and some other interesting equipment that I had never seen before. A few spun and some were used to "zipline" but my son's favorite new piece was the mini seesaw built on a spring.

The base of the playground is the large wooden mulch. Definitely could benefit from a refresh as there were some areas that were bare.

PLAYGROUND FACTS & RATING:(out of 10)

Parking: 9: Medium-sized parking lots available on both street entrances. Quick walk to the playground area. There is a very small dirt lot up at the playground on the Taft road side however it could only fit about 4-5 vehicles.

Bathrooms: 4: I did not see any bathrooms. However, on the website it does say there are some available May-Oct.

Safety: 9: Plenty of signage with safety warnings and security cameras. No broken equipment (aside from the park benches). Set on the backside of the park so no street access. The playground does have lots of access to the woods if your child is a nature buff and likes to wonder.

Cleanliness: 7: The playground was moderately clean. There were quite a few pieces of trash despite the trash receptacles provided. No graffiti or other deterrents.

Equipment: 9: With a variety of options, this playground will definitely be on our list to revisit.

Overall: 7.6: Mendon is full of great hidden finds and this is just one example. Pack a picnic, grab a ball and head over to Memorial Park to spend the day. You will not be disappointed.
